Why Is River Rafting in Rishikesh So Popular?

Rishikesh is one of several locations in India for trying out various types of adventure activities; however, when it comes to rafting, it has its own unique quality. The Ganga River flows into this area from the foothills of the Himalayas. This creates some parts of the Ganga which flow very smoothly and other parts which create rapids. The views around the Ganga, such as the hills, beaches on the river bank, and mountain views will allow the traveler to enjoy both the beauty of the trip and the excitement of the trip. Additionally, you are able to pick a rafting trip that fits within your comfort zone. For those who have never been before, a short, easy section of the river will be great. If you are looking for an exciting experience, then the Shivpuri section of the river has many well-known rapids and is also longer. For experienced river rafters, there are longer sections available, such as Marine Drive or Kaudiyala; however, these sections depend upon how the river is flowing. The state of Uttarakhand includes Rishikesh as one of its most popular rafting areas, and the general rafting season is listed by the state as beginning in September and ending in June. This flexibility is why so many people (i.e. couples, groups of friends, individual travelers, and families who have older children) choose to go rafting.
